A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an outdated address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of spam messages, but this problem can be rectified using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also important to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

Configuring a catch-all mailbox will be unbelievably easy in case you have a cloud hosting with us. You can enable this feature through our powerful, yet simple-to-use Email Manager, which is an integral part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage the hosting account itself. You’ll find all the mailboxes that you have created shown alphabetically and on the right side of each one there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously reveal to you if a specific mailbox gets all the email messages for a certain domain or not. With one click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this feature whenever you like. In case there’s enabled email forwarding or if another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain name, you will receive a warning notice from our system. The latter will not replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

You will be able to configure a catch-all address with no more than a click if you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated hosting plan with us and your email messages are handled by our cloud hosting platform. All the email addresses that you set up with any domain name hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Each of them will have a mini "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable the feature will be to click on that icon. In the exact same fashion you will be able to turn off the feature, if you don’t need it any longer. Our system will let you know if you’re attempting to enable a 2nd catch-all email address for a given domain or if there is activated email forwarding, but it’ll never deactivate or modify anything automatically or without your approval.
